ABOUT League Cup Final Stage
The Scottish League Cup is a cup competition open to all Scottish Professional Football League sides.
For the majority of its existence, the Scottish League Cup had a straightforward knockout system however, since the 2016/17 season, the format was changed to include a group stage before the knockout ties take place.
This competition is one of the oldest League Cups in the world having been formed in 1946.
Until 1995, winners of the cup were granted entry into the Europa League. However, due to the reduction of European spots granted to Scotland, this is no longer the case.
